The blood group diet was first proposed by the American naturopath Peter D'Adamo. His theory states that each blood type determines the resistance of the human body to various diseases. There are 4 main blood groups. Peter D'Adamo divided them as follows:
- The first is the oldest that everyone else has gone to. He called such people "Hunters". It is owned by about 32% of the world's population. However, they have difficulty rebuilding their bodies for new diets. In order to constantly saturate the body with protein, their diet should be rich in meat dishes.
- The second - allegedly appeared at a time when people began to cultivate the land. Therefore, the owners of this group were called "Farmers". There are about 40% of the world's population. Such people have adaptive immunity. Get used to a quick landscape change. Common problems in people with this blood type are disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys, liver and gallbladder. For blood group 2 owners, you should limit the use of animal fats and increase the amount of plant fiber.
- Third - the owners took part in the first and second parts. They are called "nomads". There are about 20% of such people in the world. Representatives have strong immunity, but often suffer from problems with the heart and blood vessels. They are characterized by oncological diseases. The diet should be balanced. You can't give up anything for sure.
- The fourth is the rarest and newest. Their representatives are called "New People". There are no more than 8% of them anywhere on the planet. Weakness of the gastrointestinal tract, problems with the kidneys, gallbladder, urogenital system. Different cancers are possible. It is necessary to dilute the dishes with seafood and exclude fatty meats.
The principles are based on specific blood group foods. The first is characterized by increased consumption of heavy foods. These are mainly pork, beef, lamb, veal and chicken.
Representatives of the latter should reduce the consumption of animal fats and proteins, as well as add large amounts of greens and vegetables to the diet.
For the third, you need a mixed meal. The diet should consist of 60% plant and 40% animal food. They need to be careful not to eat foods that contain lactose.
The rarest, fourth, has many limitations. Such people should reduce animal and plant foods and dilute their diet with seafood and dairy products.
The diet should be based on foods that are considered beneficial for a particular blood group. Neutral use is also allowed. But the harmful ones need to be partially abandoned. If the daily food intake is chosen correctly, the human body will reach the optimal weight and stand there.
This is not a diet in the usual sense, but a long-term meal plan. A period of at least 6 months must be observed to achieve a significant effect.
Pros and cons
As with any long-term dietary change, the Peter D'Adam method has its pros and cons.
Pros:
- Fraction food. You need to eat in small portions at least 5 times a day. According to most gastroenterologists and nutritionists, this is the optimal regimen.
- The ration prepared for each group has the correct BJU ratio. And it balances it thanks to the allowed fruits and vegetables.
- Most fruits and vegetables should be eaten raw. As a result, the amount of food entering the body increases.
